It's a review meant to sell the sword, so take it with a grain of salt, but it's still an interesting blade. I'll see what other's say before I commit to it. But it does look like my best option in my price range.

Thanks for the video. I don't think this one is quite for me, but this one is an interesting design. For someone who wants a self-defense option and doesn't have access to a firearm, this could be a formidable weapon.

Would be interested in knowing how closely Windless gets the metrics to the original? Point of balance? Primarily thrust over cut, but the model 1833 has a slight curve? I think it's about an inch shorter than the model 1833? Have you ever handled a model 1833 and how does the feel compare? And your price is a little less than everyone else I checked, so points to Kult. Appreciate the video and stay well....

Laziest scam I've ever seen.

The original 1833 saber had a slight curve to the blade. It was a copy of the French heavy cav saber. The weight was centered around 10 inches from the hilt making it very maneuverable. There were only 280 of them made. Manufactured: Springfield, Mass., Maker: N. P. Ames Cutler, Model: 1833 Dragoon, Size: 34.2-inch blade. The rings on the scabbard hook to the belts suspended from the waist belt. The top ring is above the balance point and the brass hook on the belt holds it when not on horseback.

Just ordered it. One discrepancy, the specs on the website say POB is 4", but in the video I think you say 3". Are the website specs from the earlier version?

I love everything about the blade...however...I'm sure it wouldn't be historically accurate, but a blade guard would be nice. As this sword design is very similar to "sting" from "The Lord of the Rings", perhaps a similar blade guard would be just the thing.

Maybe you can answer why so much of Kult of Athena's sword inventory is on back order? And if I was to order something that has been listed on back order for a couple of years now, when could I expect to finally get it?

Sadly, the rings are useless on a pogo stick. Needs some type of camlock device that snaps in place...

What people need to remember is that the steel quality of ANY of these is likely to be superior to original swords from the period, purely because technology has improves vastly, as has the understanding of metalurgy and heat treatments! What has also changed has expectation! A soldier or even a knight in the 1500s wouldn't be expecting a mirror finish on their blade, and certainly wouldn't have a mirror finish after a day training or even on the battlefield! MOST of these weapons were made to work, not to look nice, so aspects such as blade geometry are higher up the priorities list than polish on the blade. Expecation regarding price has changed since back then too! Back then your LIFE depended on your sword not failing during use, which is why people were spending the price of a house on their sword, not just a couple of hundered dollars! Some of the better known swords that have survived until now, were owned by KINGS, and as such they were the BEST available!

Darksword armory does include a "sharpened" option before purchase so why woukd it need to be sharpened again??

Speaking of going into the false edge, I believe you meant to say the back of the sword, and not the tang. The tang of course is at the hilt end .
